Time for Conferences! (Nov 20 – 24th)

Dear families,

The time for November conferences is upon us! Just like in past years, we will have half-days of instruction on Friday 11/20 – Wednesday 11/24 to allow us to meet for a longer conversation.  Our conferences will last up to 25 minutes.  This means we will have a shorted schedule and assignments on these half days.  In order to better prepare for our conferences, we will also be not holding our regular 10 minute family conferences during the weeks of November 16th and November 23rd.  Hopefully, you will be able to use that time to complete a small “homework” assignment to prepare for our conference (see below).

This year, we are being asked to focus our conversations on the Riverview School District Outcomes and Indicators. I will be working to get more academic data posted to Skooler, as well. We can also discuss any other questions, concerns or topics that matter to you, this is your conference. I do prefer that we meet as a teacher-parent-student team if possible.

SIGN UP FOR YOUR CONFERENCE:

To sign up for your 25 minute conference, please use this booking link. You will need to keep track of the email sent to you after you book because this will not automatically be placed on your child’s Teams calendar.  Also, please make sure that you choose me (Christie Isler) as your teacher.  That’s the only way I will know that you scheduled a conference!

PREPARE FOR YOUR CONFERENCE:

To prepare for your conference, please find time to complete this survey with your student. Your student will need to log in to their Office 365 account to access the survey and, no matter how tempting it is to take the helm, I would suggest that you allow them to complete the survey with you as a discussion partner. This is about their academic experience after all!

Thank you everyone for your hard work (students and parents) these past two months.  You’re all amazing. Now, have a great weekend!

Cheers,

Ms. I
