Today’s Schedule (Thursday 1/7):

9:25 – 9:55 Morning Meeting

  • Journal Prompt: Write a scene (dialogue, small action, description and internal thinking) that includes a mysterious purple frog.
  • TOPIC: Mentor Sentence Day 4
  • New schedule format & Review schedule

10:00 – 10:55 – Eureka Math (Groups)

10-10:30: Pythons (5.2 Topic D Lesson #14)

10:30 – 11:00: Ogopogos (6.2 Topic A Lesson 2) – Watch the lesson video before you come to the meeting so that we can work the problem set together!

Other groups – Work independently on math tasks

Morning Break (10:55 – 11:10)

11:10 – 12:10 – Language Arts

Target: I will develop my own interpretation of a story.

Task: In our meeting we will have some fishbowl discussions. On your own you will complete the “Third Read” hub to develop your own ideas.

Lunch (12:10 – 12:40)

12:40 – 2:00 Independent Work

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda. Good places to start are:

  • Read, write or project for Book Wheel #2
  • Complete tasks from Instructional Block 1 & 2

Target: Discuss How and Why Europeans came to the Americas based on what we learned from the artifacts in our Sunken Ship dive.

Task: Complete your Reading Activity (Sunken Ship) notes and post evidence of your work.

2: 45 – 3:10 – Independent Work Time

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda.

Music: 3:10 – 3:40

Your Task: Go to the specialist loop and attend the meeting to for today or follow the directions provided by your specialist teacher.

3:40 – 3:50/4 pm – Wrap up your day

  • Did you complete all the work you were expected to? If yes, then celebrate! If no, do you need to keep working? Or will you add your tasks to tomorrow’s list in your agenda?
  • THINK or WRITE – What is one thing to celebrate about your day today?
