Schedule for Friday

Dear Families,

Below is our schedule for Friday.  I also have a couple of notes on this week:

  • I am hoping to have emails out to everyone sometime this afternoon with notes on work not yet done and book wheel progress.  If I don’t get there today, it won’t be for lack of trying.
  • There has been some quite passionate conversation about having a class government recently and passion can often lead to excitement, great creativity and perhaps some rash decisions.  If it’s possible, do have some conversation with your child about ways to participate respectfully in a conversation where there are many dissenting opinions. In class, we have talked about supporting our ideas with evidence, keeping the chat conversation to positive and factual statements only and stepping out of the conversation when feeling angry or frustrated.  You are also welcome to get deeper into conversations about government structure, purpose and function if that suits your family!

Cheers,

Ms. I

Today’s Schedule:

9:25 – 9:55 Morning Meeting

  • Journal Prompt: Let’s look at our conversation from yesterday about creating our own government. Some questions to consider are:
  • (1) Are we ready to make a decision about whether or not this is how we want to spend some of our time?
