Tuesday’s Learning (Feb 2, 2021)

Here are details on today. Please note that, as I explained in yesterday’s post, there is not supply swap today (or this week). I will keep you posted about how supplies will work next week after transportation has had more time to figure things out.

Today’s Schedule:

9:25 – 9:55 Morning Meeting

  • Getting Started: Remember how to build a vocabulary flip book? That’s the name of the game today.
  • TOPIC: Let’s build that study aid. Come prepared to work on it with us.
  • Review schedule & Plan for the day

10:00 – 10:55 – Eureka Math (Groups)

Important! Notice the group changes for meetings!

10-10:30: Ogopogos (6.2 Topic A Lesson 12)

10:30 – 11:00: Pythons (5.2 Lesson 23) – Please watch your video before coming to our meeting.

Other groups

  • Dragon Turtles: #14 & Project (Ben, we’ll meet at 2:50 again today)
  • Agafia: Module 4 Lesson 14

Morning Break (10:55 – 11:10)

11:10 – 12:10 – Language Arts

Target: Today, you will continue writing, because writers write. We will meet briefly to discuss: balancing thinking with facts, more transition strategies & some conclusion strategies.

Task: Hub 17: Balancing thinking with fact (I know that we skipped a few. It’s okay.) Remember, this hub involves writing for 30 minutes and posting an piece of the work you did today.

12:40 – 2:00 Independent Work

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda. Good places to start are:

  • Read for 30 minutes (no book wheel this week)
  • Complete any unfinished social studies tasks
  • Complete and post vocabulary study aid for this week
  • Complete tasks from Instructional Block 1 & 2

Family meetings today (find these on your calendar): Ryan, Alex, Agafia & Tobin (Chase at 4 pm)

Today’s family meeting topic: Let’s check on Math.

2:00 – 2:45 IB3/Social Studies

Target: Today, we will brainstorm some questions that we might ask during our field trip tomorrow AND review what work we will complete in our social studies loop this week.

Task:

  • Processing
  • Processing Activity

2: 45 – 3:10 – Independent Work Time

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda.

2:50 – 3:10 – Math with Ben (Check your calendar, Ben!)

Library: 3:10 – 3:40

Your Task: Go to the specialist loop and attend the meeting to for today or follow the directions provided by your specialist teacher.

3:40 – 3:50/4 pm – Wrap up your day

  • Did you complete all the work you were expected to? If yes, then celebrate! If no, do you need to keep working? Or will you add your tasks to tomorrow’s list in your agenda?
  • THINK or WRITE – What is one thing to celebrate about your day today?
