Friday’s Learning Schedule (2/5/2021)

Here are some notes on tomorrow’s learning. You might notice that there is no new content this Friday. We have some connection activities (Drawing game, math game, a short art activity) and then time to work. This is so ensure that students are able to complete tasks from this week and feel successful. I will be checking in with students, but I would encourage you to do the same. Have them show you the work they’re done. Read the schedule and directions together to makes sure your student understands what needs to be done.

Today’s (Friday’s) Schedule:

9:25 – 9:55 Morning Meeting

  • Journal Prompt: What does it mean to improvise? Write about a time where you had to improvise (Work with what you had to do the best job you could.)
  • TOPIC: Virtual blind contour drawing – come prepared with a pen/pencil and paper!
  • Review schedule

10:00 – 10:55 – Quizzes for (almost) Everyone!

Let’s meet for 20 minutes to play a math game, because it’s always fun to “Guess my rule”, right? Then you can head off to complete any needed work or solve a math question problem.

Morning Break (10:55 – 11:10)

11:10 – 12:10 – Language Arts

Let’s pause to do a little art. You will need:

  • paper of your choice
  • colors (colored pencils, colored pens or a coloring tool of your choice)

Lunch (12:10 – 12:40)

12:40 – 2:00 Independent Work

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda. Good places to start are:

  • Complete your “INDY” tasks: Vocabulary Quiz , Writing and Social Studies tasks from yesterday
  • Complete tasks from Instructional Block 1 & 2

Family meetings today (find these on your calendar): Arin, Kai, Jackson, Luke, Eli W, Griffin

Today’s family meeting topic: Let’s check on Math.

2:00 – 2:45 IB3/Check in & Office Hours

We will meet quickly to review what needs to be completed to wrap up the week. Then, you can either stay for Office Hours or head off to work independently.

2: 45 – 3:10 – Independent Work Time

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda.

PE: 3:10 – 3:40

Your Task: Go to the specialist loop and attend the meeting to for today or follow the directions provided by your specialist teacher.

3:40 – 3:50/4 pm – Wrap up your day

  • Did you complete all the work you were expected to? If yes, then celebrate! If no, do you need to keep working? Or will you add your tasks to tomorrow’s list in your agenda?
  • THINK or WRITE – What is one thing to celebrate about your day today?
