Learning Notes and Activities for Monday 2/8

Good (snowy!) Morning everyone,

At the bottom of this post is the learning schedule for our classroom for Monday, 2/8. There are some important changes happening this week and beyond so it would be wise to take a moment to discuss those with your child and think through how they impact your week. Here are the highlights:

  • Specialists: In preparation for the return to in person learning, there are changes to our specialist timing, scheduled and expectations.  You should have gotten additional information from the district regarding these changes.  The bottom line is that specialists are now happening from 12:40 – 1:05 and attendance will be taken. Please make sure your student understands these changes. We will also be discussing these changes in class today.
  • Family Meetings: Because the new specialist timing now eclipses our family meeting schedule, we will no longer be holding family meetings.  However, I am working on a schedule for families to schedule a meeting over the next few weeks if you feel that one final family meeting would really support your child before we make the move to in-person/hybrid learning.
  • Supply Bags: There will be no transportation drop off of Supply Bags these next few weeks. However, we will have a supply bag pick up at Carnation Elementary on Wednesday from 8 – 9. I know that this causes some inconvenience for our Duvall families, but it’s only for a few weeks.
  • What will things look like in March? Class placement information will be sent out from the Main Office this week. For the PAT classes, all students will be remaining with their current teacher and I will have more details on what our learning day will look like for everyone along with how our learning rhythms will be changing (and what will remain the same).  What I can tell you is that learning will continue and we’re keepin’ the band together…and that’s about all I’ve got right now. 🙂 As always, I appreciate your patience with this endlessly evolving educational experience!

Happy Monday!

-Ms. I
