Thursday’s Learning Activities (2/11/2021)

Look at this! I’m not writing this at 6 am! Whoo hoo!

Below you will find Thursday’s learning schedule. Here are a couple of things to take note of:

  • There is no school on Friday (2/12) or Monday (2/15). Happy Mid Winter Break!
  • Students do need to turn in their final writing piece today. While I will be discussing this in our Language Arts block, it certainly wouldn’t hurt if you were to check in with them, too.
  • Yesterday, you received an email letting you know which time frame (AM/PM) your child will be attending school starting March 1st.  I have more information coming to you soon. I spent my afternoon triangulating, cross-referencing and redesigning what we do to keep as much consistent as possible while also creating something totally different. It’s slow going, but I’m making progress.
  • Finally, we’ve been exploring entertaining ways of processing our emotions in our daily check in form. Thursday, the class challenged me to send our cat check in out to staff members and when I did I realized how infrequently we — as adults — actually check in with each other and how important it is to ask each other, honestly, “How are you?”.  So, here’s one for all you hard working, supportive, endlessly flexible parents out there.  (FYI – this is currently anonymous, because sometimes it’s easier to be honest that way, but if you want me to know who you are, you can add it in one of the text boxes.)

Happy almost break and happy (?) almost one year anniversary of the remote schooling adventure.  I feel like we all need some trophies for something.

Cheers,

Ms. I
