Thursday’s Learning Plan

Today’s Schedule:

9:25 – 9:55 Morning Meeting

  • TOPIC: Divisibility – Let’s warm up with a puzzle
  • Review schedule & Plan the day

10:15 – 10:45 – Math Work Session

Today is a work session. I will have an meeting running from 10:15 – 10:45 and students (you) are expected to check in with me at some point during that time. You can come check in once and then go work independently OR you can come and join a break out room with your math team members and solve problems together

Target: Work with your classmates to discuss and complete math tasks

Task: Complete your math tasks for the day

Pythons: Quiz

Agafia: Meet with Ms. I @ 10 am to review yesterday’s test & Lesson 14 (we’re skipping again)

Ogopogos: End of Module GoFormative Test

Dragon Turtles: Lesson 20 (meet with Ms. at 2:50 today)

Morning Break (10:55 – 11:10)

11:10 – 12:10 – Language Arts

11:10 – (Expected Whole class) – In this meeting, we get to talk about the story. If you can, please try to reread/listen the story before you come to the meeting so that you have the story fresh in your mind.

Make sure that you also bring your Junior Great Book to the meeting to use during our discussion. We will complete the “BEFORE” node during the meeting and discuss. You will then complete the AFTER node on your own based on our discussion.

Task: Complete Second Read: Focus Question using the work we did in class today.

Lunch 12:10 – 12:40

ART: 12:40 – 1:05

Your Task: Attend the specialist Zoom meeting for today. The Zoom link is in your Loop. After this meeting, please complete any Loops activities connected to this specialist. You will find your Specialist Loop link on your Loops Dashboard.

1:05 – 2:00 Independent Work

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent in on Today’s hub or any other task you’ve listed on your agenda. Good places to start are:

  • Work on Book Wheel #3 (Read, Write, Project)
  • Complete specialist activities
  • Complete tasks from Instructional Block 1 & 2
  • Look at your vocabulary tasks for this week or study
  • Take your Vocabulary Quiz!
  • Complete any science nodes due at 2 pm today

Due to the new specialists schedule, we are no longer holding family engagement meetings. If you have a concern or a question, email to either discuss via email OR set up a one-time meeting.

2:00 – 2:45 IB3/Science (Mixtures and Solutions)

Target: We will build our use of the Science Language of the Discipline and make scientific observations of our experimental set up

Task: Complete “Science Notebook: Observations” in 1.2 Separating Solutions

2:45 – 3:40 – Independent Work Time

Your Task: Work on tasks marked independent on Today’s hub or any other task for today that is not yet completed.

If you have finished all expected tasks, please use this time to do additional work on:

  • Book Wheel
  • Math Quest
  • Expert Tasks

3:40 – 3:50/4 pm – Wrap up your day

  • Did you complete all the work you were expected to? If yes, then celebrate! If no, do you need to keep working? Or will you add your tasks to tomorrow’s list in your agenda?
  • THINK or WRITE – What is one thing to celebrate about your day today?
